How I Work
People come to therapy for different reasons—feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or not quite understanding what’s happening for them.
In our work together, we pay close attention to your experience—how you think, feel and respond, and what you notice as we talk.
Rather than trying to change things quickly or push towards a particular outcome, we take time to understand what is already there. This often brings more clarity to what feels confusing or difficult.
Often, things begin to show themselves in the small moments as we
sit together—how you are, not just what you say.
From there, we can begin to try things out at a pace that feels manageable—so change comes through experience, with enough support and challenge to allow something different to happen.
At the heart of this is a simple idea:
Change occurs when one becomes what he is, not when he tries to become what he is not.
